Oscar has been performing, teaching, and competing since 1989. He has an extensive dance background consisting of salsa, merengue, cumbia, bachata, tango and cha cha cha. His hard work and dedication have always paid off. He was awarded first place in 25 salsa competitions, including being the Vice World Champion at the Miami World Salsa Federation Championships 2003. He proudly represented Canada in various Congresses around the world, amongst other important dance, corporate and charity events. He has live, movie, and/or TV appearances in Bermuda Islands, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Sweden, and of course, all over Canada.

Oscar is passionate in working with kids. In fact, he is the leading dance instructor in Toronto who trains kids dancing salsa at performance and competitive level for 9 years. His kids have extensive competition and performance experience with numerous awards and media exposure.

With the craze around the Oscar-Award Winning Film, Slum Dog Millionaire, Bollywood dance has come into the spotlight! Bollywood is the informal term popularly used for the Mumbai-based Hindi language film industry in India. Bollywood is the largest film producer in India and one of the largest in the world. The name is a portmanteau of Bombay (the former name for Mumbai) and Hollywood, the center of the American film industry.

In this unique and fun 2-hour workshop, you will various basic Bhangra and Bollywood movements- with a sexy flair! You will then be challenged to dance to the hit song, Jai Ho, by the Pussy Cat Dolls! Check out the MTV here. Get ready to dance, sweat and have fun!

Join us for our 2 hr workshop to learn the secrets to the hot hot moves. Pick up the secrets of how to sway your body, thrust your hips fluidly, and add some tango flavours!

Participants should know already the bachata basics, ready to jump right into the fun stuff!

Due to the passionate/intimate nature of the dance, a partner is highly recommended but not required. For those who are signing up without a partner, we will match you with someone to the best of our abilities. However, a partner is not guaranteed.

The traditional gypsy dance and music of Southern Spain, in whose undulating vocals, supple arm movements, and stamping footwork can be discerned powerful Moorish and Arabic influences.

Flamenco dancing is characterized by colorful costumes, intense and erotic movements, stamping of the feet (zapateado), and clapping of the hands (palmada); its execution is brilliant, noisy, and passionate. Individual performances are distinguished by the inventiveness with which dancers play with the rhythms of each dance and by their intensity of expression?great flamenco dancers are known for their duende, a quality which expresses both their soul and their ability to translate themselves into pure states of emotion.

Strip Aerobics (a.k.a. Exotic Dancing, Sensual Aerobics, Strip to Fit) is the new wave of fitness!! It has gained popularity due to the introduction of Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease DVD's and Sheila Kelly's S Factor studios in Los Angeles.

Strip Aerobics is a workout that is safe and fun, with medium intensity and low impact. Don't worry- no one takes their clothes off! Laura's Strip to Fit sessions and workshops are great for toning muscles with its slow controlled moves, its variety of hip rolls and body waves. Women will learn to express themselves while shedding those pounds!

With regrets, our beloved Salsa instructor, Mel Urrutia, will be finishing up his last term at Enamorarse Dance, to pursue his love of performing. We have had the honour to have Mel for the past year plus. Mel is not only an awesome instructor, but also a personal friend to many of us. He has brought to life our motto of making students "fall in love with dance".

You will be missed at Enamorarse Dance, but we look forward to seeing you perform in the salsa scene. All the best to your future endeavours!

Swing Dance is a type of dance that developed concurrently with the style of jazz music in the 1920s, 30s and 40s. The most well known of which is Lindy Hop, a popular partner dance that originated in Harlem and is still danced today. It can be seen in classic films like "Hellzapoppin" and "A Day at The Races", and more recently in "Swing Kids" and "Malcom X." It is characterized by it's high energy and fun loving nature.

Socially danced Lindy Hop is where the heart of the dance lies. The main focus of social dancing is the music, and the person you are dancing with. In general, there are no set dance partners and people are free to dance with anyone else, regardless of skill, level, or ability. In competition and performances, you will see some incredible and exciting air steps, dips, and tricks.
